#1   Please develop a way to input elevations by Daylight Opening

#2   Under “Transom Glass & Stop Settings” (within Door Frame Parts) please add the following:
“Vert Add / Deduct to Daylight”
“Hor Add / Deduct to Daylight”

Why:   Different Vendors have different dimensions that are added / deducted for different systems.  It would allow us to get the correct glass size everytime without having to mess with the glass stop button. (i.e. YKK Adds 1/4” to D.L.O. Width & Deducts 1/4” to D.L.O. Height for the YKK YES 45FS framing system).

#3   Please add a feature to allow an Administrator lock setting on the database for a network, when multiple users utilize the same network.

Why:   Multiple users that aren’t the most familiar with the program may change settings by accident, which would require re-work.

#4   Have Shop Drawings show the Sub-sill in the dimensions area.

Why:   When printing shop drawings with doors and sidelites, the Frame size for sidelites will be a little smaller than the Door Frame size because the Subsill is added under the sidelite.  Door frames don’t require the subsill, thus this could help prevent errors from occurring on cut sheets.

#5   Please include a cut list for Vinyl on the program on the optimization part of the program.

i.e.  Take the D.L.O Width & Heights to make the Cut list.  Have a setting button that will say something like “Add______inches per foot” to adjust for Vynal Shrinkage.

Why:   If someone would like to pre-cut vynal prior to taking it out the field, the feature would save time, money.

#6   Please fix the filter on the following areas:
The entrance Configuration Description field does not let you filter
Under the glass tab, the insulated filter does not work

#7   Please include the ability for the program to be able to print out glass orders by elevation and location.

You must be getting to know our software pretty well to create this type of list! We're glad to see this type of involvement in the software.

Here are the responses per item number.

1. This is the first we have heard on this front. My first thought is that it would take a lot more steps for every elevation, when most elevations have more equal panels than unequal. We would have to hear this from the majority of our users to redesign our software for this type of input.

2. There is already a vertical add to daylight in the door frame parts screen for the transom glass, but we have thought about making it much easier to change the size of a piece, row, or column of glass by clicking on it and editing the size. We will probably add this feature to the glass tab in the near future. Then adding the horizontal add to daylight will come as a future change. You can always enter a negative number if you want to deduct from daylight right now.

3. This is on our list, and we hope to add this functionality some time next year.

4. We recently realized this dimension is needed on the drawings, and will get add this to an update before the end of the year.

5. This is another first request in over 12 years, but I can see your point. I would like to see a consensus on this as well. My first thought is that the elevation drawings themselves would serve as a good source for vinyl cutting because it has all of the dimensions, but this of course doesn't account for shrinkage.

6. Thanks for bringing these to our attention. These will be fixed in the near future.

7. A new glass report option is at the top of our list also. We have the glass labels in the program now, so we just need a report that shows these by elevation, which will allow you to match the report to the drawing. You could also use the Glass Labels to do this now, even if you print them on plain paper. There are a few different label formats you could look at. Find these in the Print Reports window.

#1  When Dealing with Door frames.  If i want to include a pocket filler in the door jamb only when there is a sidelite attached i can't do that unless i go in and manually do it.

Is there a way to only include door filler when there is a sidelite attached (besides manually changing it)?

I don't know if in a future update you could address this issue.

#2   Also, i found a problem in the calculation of the measurement under shop drawing settings where it is to show feet and inches.  Sometimes when i make a frame, for instance 5'0" H, it comes up as 4'12".  It should calculate just the 5'0".

Please address this issue.

1. The door jamb filler issue should be resolved in the latest update. On the v15 page, there is a list of all the fixes we have made to each update that is posted, and this fix should be listed in one of the reason updates. Let us know if you still notice a problem with it.

2. The way the vertical dimensions show as 4'12" for a 5' opening (for example) is a nagging problem that the drawing software seems to have. We license this software from a company in Greece and have repeatedly requested a fix for it ourselves, but the fix never seems to happen. We'll keep trying, but unfortunately, this problem is out of our hands.
